A festive feast in the heart of Kilkenny City.

We were lucky enough to have chosen Daragh as our photographer for our wedding last November. He was absolutely amazing, he captured our wedding day perfectly and made everyone feel so relaxed and natural. The photos are stunning and really capture the fun and exciting atmosphere of our day - we couldn’t be happier with them.
Daragh was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for an incredible wedding photographer!

Kate & Liam

Langtons Hotel Kilkenny

Kate and Liam’s November wedding in Kilkenny unfolded as a day filled with warmth, elegance, and unmistakable joy. From the quiet anticipation of morning preparations at Langtons Hotel to the lively celebrations that carried late into the night, every moment reflected the couple’s easy connection and the excitement shared by everyone around them.

The day began with laughter as Kate got ready in her Folkster bridal gown, surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mother, and the kind of supportive energy that sets the tone for a wedding morning. Champagne flowed—sometimes quite literally—and the atmosphere blended calm reflection with bursts of celebration. Daragh McCann of Stargaze Photography in Kilkenny captured these moments with a natural, unobtrusive style that preserved the emotion and intimacy of the morning. The morning of Katie and Liam’s wedding was filled with excitement and laughter as preparations unfolded in Kiltealy County Wexford. Surrounded by the whole gang of close family and friends from far and wide. From the bridal makeup on the morning by close friend Jessie Flood home from Australia for the wedding celebration of a close friend from childhood, hair stylist on the morning was the brilliant Sharon Redmond.

A Christmas-Inspired Celebration to Remember, Katie and Liam’s wedding was more than a ceremony—it was a family-centered, festive celebration of love. This November wedding radiated warmth, joy, and Christmas spirit that will be cherished forever.

Kiltealy Church provided a beautiful setting for the ceremony, where family and friends gathered to watch Kate walk up the aisle on her father’s arm. The church’s warm light and traditional character framed the couple perfectly as they exchanged vows, with Liam—Wexford Senior County Hurler—sharing quiet smiles with Kate throughout. The ceremony felt deeply personal, grounded in family, community, and the significance of the moment.

Afterward, the celebrations moved back to Langtons Hotel, where the ballroom was set for 280 guests. The space glowed with candlelight, elegant décor, and the unmistakable buzz of a large gathering ready to celebrate. Speeches brought laughter and a few emotional pauses, while the evening drinks reception gave friends and family a chance to reconnect, unwind, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Throughout the day, the couple made time for portraits at Gowran Abbey, where the historic stone architecture and soft November light created a timeless backdrop. The wedding party, dressed in Folkster gowns and classic formalwear, added to the sense of understated elegance that ran through the entire celebration.

As the night unfolded, the energy only grew—applause, dancing, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the last song. Kate and Liam’s wedding day was a celebration not just of their relationship, but of the people who surround and support them. With Daragh McCann documenting each chapter, the story of their day feels vivid, heartfelt, and beautifully complete.

The evening celebration moved into the grand ballroom, lit with soft candlelight that offered the perfect backdrop for warm, moody reception photography. Guests toasted, laughed, and danced beneath the chandeliers while the photographer captured the candid joy of the night — the essence of what makes Irish weddings so unique: heart, laughter, and togetherness.

As the night drew to a close, Kate & Liam shared their first dance surrounded by friends and family, the room glowing with love. Outside, Langtons Hotel stood under a starlit sky, the golden warmth of the day lingering in every photograph.

For any couple dreaming of a romantic Irish wedding, Kate & Liam’s day at Lantons Hotel in Kilkenny is proof that magic truly happens when light, love, and storytelling come together. Their wedding photos are not just images — they are memories, beautifully preserved through the lens of an experienced Irish wedding photographer who captured the heart of their festive fairytale.

Top tips for getting married at Langtons Hotel in the Irish winter:

Embrace the season and plan for cozy comfort!
Irish winters can be chilly and unpredictable, so lean into the atmosphere rather than fight it. Think warm lighting, rich colours, and hearty food — these make your celebration feel inviting no matter the weather.

The hotel’s cosy spaces work in your favour, especially for arrivals and drinks receptions. Offering warm welcome drinks, blankets for outdoor photos, or a fireside seating area helps guests settle in and enjoy the atmosphere from the start.

Timing & light: Plan your ceremony earlier in the day since natural light fades quickly.

Photography: Have a backup plan for indoor photos — Langtons have stunning interiors perfect for portraits.

Guest comfort: Offer hot drinks on arrival or cozy wraps for outdoor moments.

Décor: Candles, fairy lights, and lush greenery make the setting feel magical against the winter backdrop.

After the ceremony, the couple headed to Gowran Abbey for a romantic photoshoot with all the gang. The historic setting provided a dramatic backdrop for the photoshoot, by my side as like many times in the past was Donal O’Connor from OC Wedding Videography. Daragh and Donal have a brilliant working relationship spanning almost a decade. “ We know time is of the essence at this time of the year” Working as a dynamic team it was straight into it. A freezing cold day in late November . It was dry and you can ask no more than that. The Abbey’s charm complemented the Christmas-inspired bouquets, creating magical portraits of Katie and Liam that highlight both elegance and festive cheer. Before working with the bride and groom we like to work with the entire wedding party first to lighten the mood and ease our way into it. We don’t usually work with professionals in front of our cameras so it’s important to make eveyone feel comfortable in order to the get the most natural photos possible.

Lean into the atmosphere
Winter weddings feel intimate by nature. Candlelit tables, soft lighting, and the buzz of a full ballroom create a mood that’s hard to replicate in any other season. Langtons is at its best when you let that ambience shine.
