Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny has been hosting weddings for over 50 years, It’s a family run hotel that has expanded into one of the foremost wedding destinations in Ireland . Newpark is only a short drive from Kilkenny Castle. Kilkenny Castle is a firm favourite for so many couple through the ages. If you’re not looking to leave the hotel then you’re in luck because Newpark has 2 separate gardens and 1 gigantic Dino park. I feel its ideally located close to the City Center in Kilkenny, perfect for mingling with the passers by (this is always a great buzz for the couples and they really feed off the positive energy). If the Castle is not your first choice for your photos then a stroll through the town might be perfect for you. Finally one of my absolute favourites as a photo location in Kilkenny is St Mary’s Lane at The Medieval Mile Museum. I love the harsh contrast of the stone walls and the beauty of the old Church as a back drop.

One of the unique aspects of Newpark’s long history is its famous warmth and customer service. It’s rich in tradition but its the modern side and it’s dozens of tiny details that create a very special and romantic atmosphere. Stroll the vast grounds or hideaway for quick cuddle and photo opportunity in the glorious evening light.

“Daragh was such a great choice for our wedding photographer. He was well prepared in advance of the day and very much available for any questions we had. On the day itself he was great fun - very relaxed and had the chat with everyone in the morning while getting some snaps at the house. He made the best of a cold cold day getting our photos after the church and set up a really cool night shot later on!
The turnaround on getting the digital images was quick and we loved the photos! He took a great mix of candid and posed shots (family etc.) that really reflected the vibe of the day from start to finish. Daragh had drafted the wedding album before he shared it for digital review, so it was an easy process of swapping in and out photos based on our preferences rather than a mammoth task. The album came a few weeks after the proof was approved, and the packaging and quality is really lovely.
