Magnificent 7! Wedding photo locations in County Kilkenny.

Getting married in Kilkenny? Well, first off… lucky you!!

  • Kilkenny Castle (At The Parade)

Staring the obvious at number one, Kilkenny Castle is the most sought after location year in year out for weddings in Kilkenny. I have spoken with and worked with couples from all over the world who travel to Kilkenny for their wedding day and the Castle is almost always the first question I get asked. The pride and joy of the Marble City on the banks of the River Nore and located in the middle of the City close to all the City wedding venues in ticks all the boxes.

If you want to spend time walking around exploring the grounds there are no end to the hidden gems, however in most cases time is at a premium on a wedding day. Kilkenny Castle offers easy assess to the Rose Garden on foot from Langtons Hotel, The Rivercourt Hotel, The Ormonde Hotel or Butler House. If you are dropping over from Newpark Hotel, Hotel Kilkenny or coming into the City before reaching your reception you will need a car drop off at the Parade outside the Kilkenny Design Centre.

The Rose gardens offers the perfect romantic drop for you and your wedding party, explore the vast grounds, over look the River Nore or just marvel at the jaw dropping beauty of 800 year old Castle.

Time spent approximately 30 mins to 1 hour (Depending on if you are dropping and collecting by car or walking to and from the above venues)

Woodstock Gardens

Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum is located in the south east of Kilkenny, just outside the picturesque village of Inistioge. The gardens which overlook the Nore Valley offer visitors a wide variety of attractions and are a most relaxing and beautiful environment. The gardens are home to a mix of formal and informal gardens with an arboretum, walled garden, terraced garden, yew walk and rose garden providing the main interest. Also of significance are two stunning avenues: Monkey Puzzle Avenue and Noble Fir Avenue.
